The purpose of this surgery is to increase the breast volume by the placement of a prosthesis either above or below the pectoralis muscle. A natural look is achieved by placement of an implant that is equal to or slightly less than the person's breast envelope (diameter). Do not rely on the procedure to provide cleavage. Cleavage is achieved by wearing a bra that pushes the breasts together and up. If the natural nipple position is low or the breast is sagging due to stretched skin, then a Mastopexy (removing excess skin and repositioning of the nipple) may be required to achieve a natural youthful result.
